Nigeria's first national netball team -represents something larger than a squad list or a fixture schedule. As the Nigeria Netball Federation begins its first major international campaign at the Africa Regional Qualifiers 2026 in Nairobi, I want to speak directly to what this moment means. We have built this team on a belief that Nigerian netball must earn its place at the international table not through shortcuts, but through structure, discipline, and a genuine commitment to player development. The Green Hawks are the product of that belief. Their preparations have included international exposure against Jamaica, Pakistan, and Scotland, under the leadership of head coach Alison Akinrinsola. Our ambition is to make Nigeria competitive internationally, and this team represents an important part of that journey. We believe in the players and the technical crew, and we want thenm to go to Nairobi and make Nigeria proud. The road to the 2027 Netball World Cup in Sydney runs through Nairobi. Nigeria is on it.
